A Republican candidate for Virginia's lieutenant governor, E.W. Jackson, a  Christian minister and lawyer has warned of what he sees the dangers of yoga.He has said that doing yoga may lead to being possessed by Satan.
EW Jackson, who has never held elected office, made the remarks in his 2008 book. The passage was highlighted earlier this week by conservative website which was profiling Mr Jackson.
He wrote: "When one hears the word meditation, ...The purpose of such meditation is to empty oneself ... [Satan] is happy to invade the empty vacuum of your soul and possess it.
Celebrity Trainer Subodh Gupta said "These comments reflects total ignorance on part of E.W.Jackson about yoga and meditation."
"Actually Hatha Yoga (which is popularly misunderstood as yoga in the west) are simply set of physical exercises which helps to release tension and lead towards love and compassion."
People fight each other all over the world because of tension and if tension and anger are released what is left is love and compassion not Satan.

Insomnia increases risk of heart attack | Health news

According to a study by researchers in Taiwan, sleep disorder can significantly increases one's risk of heart attack or stroke.

Researchers during the trial's four- year period looked at more than 43,000 people ages 45 or older & found that people with insomnia were twice susceptible to have heart attack or stroke than those who don’t have sleep disorder.

Chronic insomnia is also a risk factor for depression, according to the National Institutes of Health.
Sleep is one of the many important health behaviours such as diet and exercise.

In my experience I would say to a great extent diet, exercise and quality of sleep are interrelated.  If you eat heavy food late in the evening chances are sleep will be disturbed and similarly if you are doing everyday moderate exercise quality of sleep will be good.

Message is if you want to keep your heart healthy, than it is important to have adequate hours of quality sleep.

Gentle Yoga can help Queen Elizabeth II to recover from back pain

Queen Elizabeth, II has been forced to cancel an appearance in an investiture ceremony due to back pain.

The Queen was advised not to present more than 90 honors at Windsor Castle over concerns that it would be too physically demanding for her feet and could worsen the bad back condition of her.

According to the dailymail, "While the Queen’s condition is not serious, an investiture involved an hour of standing and she still has a sore back.”

"In 2006, she was laid up for several weeks with chronic sciatica".

Usually, sciatica only affects one side of the lower body, and the pain often radiates from the lower back all the way through the back down through the leg. Depending on where the sciatic nerve is affected, the pain may also radiate to the foot  or toes.

Our back bears almost all of our body weight and any extra weight we carry. If our back is not healthy we cannot be healthy.  Backache can be avoided or at least minimised in the first place if our back is strong and flexible.

Gentle yoga are perfect solutions for a healthy back and to recover from back pain, faster.

Regular practice of gentle yoga not only strengthen the back muscles but also bring flexibility to our back and help in reducing stress.

However some Yoga posture such as sitting forward bend should be avoided in case of Sciatica pain.

A strong and flexible back creates the foundation for a healthy lifestyle.
